This Wednesday marks one of the most iconic days in the life of the 80s child. On October 21st, 2015 a young Marty McFly traveled into the future to save the fate of his family. He flew into a world of hoverboards, inside-out pants, and a Chicago Cubs World Series sweep.
The movie is Back to the Future 2 and, like many others, I decided to sit down and re-watch the entire Back to the Future trilogy. But first, I needed a cocktail.
Keeping in mind Biff Tannen’s Pleasure Paradise, I chose to make a Mai Tai inspired drink complete with a fruity garnish. Of course I had to name it after Biff’s true obsession, Marty’s mother Lorraine.
- 2 oz Dark Rum
- 1 oz Pineapple Juice
- .5 oz Orange Curacao
- .5 oz Orange Juice
- .5 oz Lime Juice
- Shake with ice.
- Serve with ice in a tall glass.
- Cinnamon sprinkled on top.
- Garnished with pineapple and cherries.
While I could have done without Back to the Future 3 (you’d think they’d have learned from the Godfather series), watching all three movies was a blast from the past that left me longing for my youth. So call up the gang. Cue up Amazon. And make some cocktails. Cause its time to go back to the future!
