Recently I was out with some friends discussing charity donations and fundraisers. I friend of mine had signed up to do a charity walk the next day and he questioned how much money was actually going to the victims of the disease. We all agreed that we would prefer to give money directly to those affected than to give to a charity, not knowing if that charity was legit or not.
That's when I stumbled upon giveforward.com. This crowd funded site raises funds for individuals and their medical costs. The site charges 7.9% + $0.50 per transaction. So a great majority of that funds donated go to the individual.
We may never be able to eradicate the diseases and illnesses that afflict us, but we can do our part to help those affected and make their struggle a little easier.
