Its mid-July and I have yet to stick my toes into some warm sand. My summer has been consumed with work. My only oasis is my comfy sectional, binge watching Top Chef and Dirty Jobs with hubby. (One entices my appetite, the other kills it.) Making a resort worthy cocktail is the closest I'm going to get to an actual vacation.
Knowing that I was exploring the world of shrubs, a friend of mine handed me a bottle of Grapefruit Shrub and told me to get to work. My first instinct was to combine grapefruit with ginger. My instincts did not fail me. What I created was a refreshing concoction that whisked my mind away to a beach bungalow built for one.
If I can't go to paradise, I'll bring paradise to me. If only in my head.
1.5 oz Vodka
1 oz Grapefruit Juice
1 oz Grapefruit Shrub
.5 oz Domaine de Canton
.5 oz Lemon Juice
Top with club soda.
